Fair Trade Books are owner Rick DeVoe, his partner Zoe, and Alexander, a wonderful employee. They are all supervised by Reveler, the bookdog, to ensure you receive outstanding customer service. Our reading interests are diverse, and we can make recommendations based on your reading interests.

Our Story

Fair Trade Books opened in February 2014. Rick DeVoe, originally from New York state, had been in the Red Wing area for work. He was charmed by the city and the possibility of becoming a local business owner. He pursued that vision and moved to Red Wing to make the bookstore a reality. We host over 200 events and author book signings a year. What would you like to see at the bookstore?

We Want Your Gently Used Books

Bring your gently used books in to Fair Trade Books for generous store credit. Books will be accepted after inspection. Vintage books are welcome. We do not accept books that have odors from smoke or mildew or that have stains. We do not accept books with excessive highlighting or underscoring. Hardcover books must have their dust jackets if they were issued with one, and paperbacks must be free of creases and cracked or broken spines.
